‘Chhagan Bhujbal, a key figure in Ajit Pawar's alliance, recently remarked on a groundswell of sympathy for Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar in Maharashtra.

Chhagan Bhujbal, a leader from Ajit Pawar's camp in Maharashtra, recently spoke about a perceived sympathy wave towards Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar in the state. He mentioned that this wave was evident in the support seen at their rallies, especially following the split within Shiv Sena and NCP.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP had a strong showing in alliance with the unified Shiv Sena, winning 23 out of 25 seats they contested. However, Maharashtra's political landscape has since become more intricate after the division of Shiv Sena and NCP into factions.

Currently, Maharashtra's state government is formed by an alliance between BJP-Shiv Sena (led by Eknath Shinde) and NCP (led by Ajit Pawar). Bhujbal noted that despite the complexities, there's a perception that Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena and Sharad Pawar's NCP are not facing the same challenges as they did in previous elections.

Bhujbal also emphasized that there's a prevailing trust in Narendra Modi among the people, with a desire for a strong central government under his leadership.

Regarding his own political aspirations, Bhujbal withdrew from the Lok Sabha race due to delays in candidate announcements for the Nashik seat, urging his party to finalize candidates promptly.

The upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra will be conducted in five phases, with voting in Nashik scheduled for May 20 and counting of votes on June 4.
