Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, prior to the initiation of the model code of conduct, virtually launched a series of projects in Navi Mumbai totaling over ₹6,100 crore. These projects, led by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) and CIDCO, are expected to significantly enhance infrastructure, civic amenities, and employment prospects in the satellite city. Shinde highlighted that investments in Maharashtra had reached a record high, with the Mumbai metropolitan region alone poised to meet the ambitious 1-trillion-dollar economy target set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

During the inauguration, Shinde emphasized the importance of these projects in addressing various needs of the people, encompassing diverse aspects. He expressed regret for not being able to personally attend the inauguration due to time constraints imposed by the code of conduct but assured that the projects were meticulously designed to benefit the residents of Navi Mumbai.

Prominent leaders and officials, including city MLAs Ganesh Naik, Manda Mhatre, Prashant Thakur, and Mahesh Baldi, along with key figures like State Environment Impact Assessment Authority chairman Vijay Nahata, CIDCO's Vijay Singhal, and municipal commissioner Rajesh Narvekar, were present at the virtual event.

The projects inaugurated or marked with foundation stones included vital infrastructure developments such as bridges, CCTV networks, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, fire stations, libraries, senior citizen centers, and administrative offices. Shinde also announced initiatives like the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj memorial, the Amrut 2.0 scheme, and crucial connectivity projects like the Mumbai-Pune expressway bridge, the Kharghar-Turbhe link road, the Uran coastal road, and a passenger water transport terminal at Nerul.

Shinde expressed optimism about the economic growth of Maharashtra, highlighting the state's attractiveness to investors and its potential to achieve a 1-trillion-dollar economy. He attributed this optimism to the conducive environment for businesses and the state's commitment to security and development.

In conclusion, Shinde lauded the efforts of NMMC and CIDCO in driving progress and reiterated his confidence in Prime Minister Modi's leadership, foreseeing significant milestones in Navi Mumbai's development journey, including the inauguration of the new international airport in the coming year.
