  • The recent inauguration of India's first-ever 8-lane elevated Dwarka Expressway by Prime Minister Narendra Modi marks a significant milestone in the nation's efforts to address traffic congestion in Delhi.
  • The expressway, constructed at a cost of INR 4,100 crore and spanning 29 km, boasts a range of infrastructure including underpasses, tunnels, elevated structures, and flyovers, all strategically designed to alleviate traffic between Delhi and Gurugram.
  • Covering 18.9 km in Haryana and 10.1 km in Delhi, the expressway is poised to revolutionize commuting in the region. With an expected reduction in travel time of at least 20 minutes between Delhi and Gurugram, the expressway promises not only enhanced connectivity but also increased operational efficiency.
  • Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, emphasized that besides easing congestion on the existing NH-48, the Dwarka Expressway will have a positive impact on the lives of local residents.
