India's U-19 cricket team suffered a significant setback in the final match against Australia, as acknowledged by skipper Uday Saharan. He admitted that their downfall was primarily due to the batters' failure to execute their shots effectively, resulting in a disappointing 79-run loss. Despite being tasked with chasing down 254 runs for victory, the Indian team succumbed to pressure and were eventually bowled out for 174 runs in 43.5 overs. Only opener Adarsh Singh and number 8 Murugan Abhishek showed resilience with scores of 47 and 42 respectively, while the rest of the team struggled to make an impact.

Saharan lamented the rash shots played by his team and their inability to spend sufficient time at the crease despite thorough preparation. Nonetheless, he commended the team for their commendable performance throughout the tournament, acknowledging their fighting spirit and expressing pride in their achievements.

Australia, on the other hand, clinched their fourth U-19 World Cup title, with captain Hugh Weibgen lauding the team's collective effort and confidence in defending their target. He credited the bowlers, including Callum Vidler, Charlie Anderson, Mahli Beardman, and Tom Straker, for their disciplined performance in restricting India's batting lineup.

Harjas Singh's notable contribution with the bat earned praise from Weibgen, highlighting the coaches' trust in his abilities. Mahli Beardman, who was named the player of the match, expressed his disbelief at the victory, emphasizing the team's long-term dedication and hard work.

Reflecting on their strategy against India, Beardman revealed their focus on utilizing short deliveries and precise bowling techniques. Meanwhile, South Africa's Kwena Maphaka was honored as the player of the tournament, recognizing his outstanding performance throughout the event.
