A leader associated with Team Thackeray was fatally shot while live-streaming on Facebook, and subsequently, the assailant took his own life.

 Abhishek Ghosalkar, the son of a prominent Shiv Sena UBT leader, was fatally shot by an assailant while broadcasting a Facebook live session. The attacker then turned the gun on himself, resulting in the deaths of both individuals. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the MHB Colony police station in the Dahisar area, as confirmed by an official.

Abhishek Ghosalkar was the son of Vinod Ghosalkar, a former councilor affiliated with the Uddhav Thackeray faction of the Shiv Sena. The shooting occurred at the office of Mauris Noronha, also known as Mauris Bhai, where Ghosalkar was present. Despite recent reconciliation between the two individuals following a disagreement, Ghosalkar was invited to Noronha's office for a webcasted event. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear.

Reacting to the incident, Aaditya Thackeray, former state minister and son of Uddhav Thackeray, expressed concern over the growing violence in Maharashtra. He emphasized the negative impact of such incidents on the state's reputation and the sense of insecurity among its residents. Additionally, he highlighted the potential deterrent effect on industrial investment in Maharashtra due to the prevailing circumstances.
