Australia secured a 3-wicket victory against South Africa in the ICC Cricket World Cup, paving their way to the final showdown against India.

Australia triumphed over South Africa in a hard-fought encounter in the second semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup. The clash, held on Thursday, saw Australia emerge victorious by three wickets, setting the stage for an enticing World Cup final against hosts India on Sunday in Ahmedabad.

Facing a challenging situation, South Africa, batting first after winning the toss, encountered early setbacks as openers Quinton de Kock and Temba Bavuma fell with just eight runs on the scoreboard by the sixth over. Rassie van der Dussen and Aiden Markram followed suit, leaving South Africa in a precarious position at 24/4 in the 12th over. The formidable bowling duo of Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood played pivotal roles in dismantling South Africa's top order.

However, David Miller turned the tide with a stellar performance, crafting a resilient innings of 101 runs from 116 balls. Miller's innings, studded with eight fours and five sixes, rescued South Africa and propelled them to a total of 212 all out, despite the early setbacks. His century was capped off with a maximum over deep midwicket off Australian captain Pat Cummins.

In pursuit of the 213-run target, Australia faced some hiccups but managed to complete the chase with 16 balls to spare. The South African bowlers applied pressure, creating a tense atmosphere on the big stage. Heinrich Klaasen contributed with a solid 47 off 48 balls in a crucial partnership of 95 runs with Miller. However, Australia struck back by removing Klaasen through Travis Head.

Australia's resilience in the face of South Africa's challenges secured their place in the World Cup final against India. The stage is now set for a thrilling showdown as both teams vie for cricket's most prestigious trophy.
