Ferrari reveals new F1 car ahead of last season preceding Lewis Hamilton's debut with the team.

Ferrari unveiled their latest F1 car, the SF-24, through a brief and understated video presentation, mentioning that a select group of guests had the opportunity to witness the new vehicle firsthand. The debut of the SF-24 comes ahead of the forthcoming Formula One season, which marks the final one before Lewis Hamilton transitions to Ferrari from rival team Mercedes. With the shadow of Hamilton's impending arrival looming over them, Ferrari enters the 2024 campaign aiming to close the gap on the dominant Red Bull team.

Present at the unveiling were Ferrari's Team Principal, Frederic Vasseur, along with drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, who will compete together for the last time this season. Ferrari emphasized that the positive feedback from drivers towards the end of the previous season served as a foundational element for the SF-24, aiming for a car that offers ease of handling and predictable responsiveness on the track. Vasseur stressed the importance of building on their momentum from the previous season, emphasizing the need for improved race management and consistency.

The upcoming F1 season, comprising a record-breaking 24 races, commences in Bahrain on March 2nd. Ferrari, without a drivers' championship since 2007 and a constructors' championship since 2008, seeks to bridge the gap to Red Bull, who dominated the 2023 season, with Leclerc finishing fifth and Sainz seventh in the drivers' standings.

Leclerc expressed optimism about the SF-24's aesthetics but underscored the significance of its performance on the track. He articulated the team's ambition to consistently contend at the front and deliver excitement to Ferrari supporters throughout the season. Hamilton's impending partnership with Ferrari, replacing Sainz, raises hopes for a record-breaking eighth F1 title, as the Briton aims to rebound after narrowly missing out on the 2021 championship to Max Verstappen.

Verstappen's recent dominance in F1, clinching the last two championships, poses a formidable challenge for Hamilton and Ferrari. Despite finishing third in the previous season without a single race win, Hamilton remains determined to reclaim the championship crown and overcome the formidable Dutchman's supremacy in the sport.
