In the presence of Chief Minister Shinde, Jarange Patil concludes his fast, offering garlands to the Shivaji statue, following the government's acceptance of key Maratha quota demands.

After launching an indefinite hunger strike over the Maratha quota issue, activist Manoj Jarange ended his protest on Saturday following a meeting with Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in Navi Mumbai. The meeting took place in Vashi, where Jarange had been stationed since Friday morning along with his supporters.

Jarange broke his fast by drinking juice offered by the chief minister. Initially planning to stage the hunger strike at Azad Maidan in south Mumbai, Jarange engaged in discussions with government officials in Vashi on Friday to address his demands. Subsequently, late at night, a government delegation presented a draft ordinance addressing these demands.

Announcing the end of his agitation on Saturday morning, Jarange stated that the government had agreed to all his demands. Additionally, the government issued a notification recognizing all blood relatives of Maratha community members as Kunbis, a subgroup falling under the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category. Jarange had been advocating for Kunbi certificates for all Marathas.

Moreover, Jarange had requested on Friday that the government amend its free education policy to encompass all Marathas until the entire community could benefit from reservation.
