Kedar Jadhav Retires from All Forms of Cricket!

Kedar Jadhav has retired from all forms of cricket at the age of 39.

The allrounder represented India in 73 ODIs and nine T20Is, having made his international debut in 2014. He received his first call-up for the ODI series against Bangladesh in June 2014, but debuted in November that year against Sri Lanka in Ranchi. Jadhav was included in the Indian squad for the Zimbabwe tours in 2015, where he scored an unbeaten century, and in 2016, though he did not get to bat in that series.

In 2012, he made headlines with a triple century in the Ranji Trophy against Uttar Pradesh, finishing as Maharashtra's second-highest run-scorer for that edition. Jadhav's breakthrough came in the 2013-14 Ranji season, where he topped the charts with 1223 runs, including six centuries.

Starting with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru development squad, he joined the Delhi Daredevils in 2010, making an immediate impact with a 29-ball 50 on his IPL debut. Over the years, he also played for Kochi Tuskers, RCB, Chennai Super Kings, and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL.

Jadhav secured a consistent place in the ODI team in October 2016, playing all five matches against New Zealand at home. He became a regular fixture in the Indian side, primarily as a finisher, and was part of the squad for the 2019 World Cup in England, where India reached the semi-finals before losing to New Zealand.

In ODIs, Jadhav scored 1389 runs in 52 innings at an average of 42.09, including two centuries and six fifties. He also took 27 wickets with an economy rate of 5.15.

In 87 first-class matches, he accumulated 6100 runs at an average of 48.03, with 17 centuries and 23 half-centuries. Recently, in the 2023-24 Ranji Trophy, he scored 182 against Jharkhand in Pune, finishing the season with 379 runs from five matches. In 93 IPL games, he amassed 1196 runs with a strike rate of 123.17.

Jadhav's last international appearance was against New Zealand in Auckland in 2020.
