Maharashtra cyber cell has called in actor Tamannaah Bhatia to discuss her involvement in promoting IPL matches on a betting app.

The actor Tamannaah Bhatia has been asked to appear before the Maharashtra cyber personnel on April 29, a senior police official said.

Tamannaah Bhatia, the well-known actor from films like "Baahubali" and Netflix's "Lust Stories 2," has been summoned by the Maharashtra cyber cell regarding her alleged promotion of viewing IPL matches on a subsidiary app of the Mahadev online gaming and betting platform. Officials have asked her to appear before them on April 29 as a witness in connection with the case. This move follows complaints of IPL matches being illegally streamed on the Fairplay betting app in 2023. The cyber cell has previously taken statements from singer Badshah and the managers of actors Sanjay Dutt and Jacqueline Fernandez regarding this matter. The Mahadev app is currently under scrutiny by multiple investigation agencies for suspected illegal transactions and betting activities.
