Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, sustains injury following a fall at her residence.

West Bengal's Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, encountered an injury to her forehead following a fall at her residence in Kalighat, Kolkata, on Thursday. She, being 69 years old, was promptly taken to the state-run SSKM Hospital for medical attention.

The hospital's director, Manimoy Bandopadhyay, disclosed that Ms. Banerjee arrived with injuries sustained from a fall due to what seemed like a push from behind. She suffered from cerebral concussion and suffered a sharp cut on her forehead and nose. Her family stated that she received four stitches. Fortunately, her condition stabilized, and she was discharged later in the day.

The incident sparked widespread concern in the state, with Trinamool Congress leaders, including Abhishek Banerjee, present at the hospital. Earlier, a large crowd had gathered at the hospital seeking updates on the Chief Minister's health.

Leaders from various political parties expressed their well wishes for Banerjee's speedy recovery. Jagdeep Dhankhar, former West Bengal Governor and current Vice-President, expressed deep concern and wished her a quick recovery. State BJP president Sukanta Majumdar and State Congress president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury also extended their prayers and wishes for her speedy recovery.

Prior to the unfortunate incident, Mamata Banerjee had been actively involved in campaigning for her party's candidates in the Lok Sabha election, including participating in an event in south Kolkata. This injury comes at a crucial time during the campaign, adding further concern and attention to her health and well-being.
