Mukhtar Ansari's remains were laid to rest, with the post-mortem confirming the cause of death.

Mukhtar Ansari's younger son, Umar Ansari, was present during the post-mortem examination at Rani Durgavati Medical College. The gangster-politician's funeral took place on Saturday morning after his body arrived at his residence in Gazipur district, Uttar Pradesh, late Friday night. The local administration had deployed heavy police presence for the funeral.

Mukhtar Ansari, who was serving a prison sentence for murder, passed away due to a cardiac arrest in a hospital in Banda. His family alleged that he was given "slow poison" by the authorities, but the post-mortem examination confirmed that his death was due to a heart attack, not poisoning, according to a senior hospital source overseeing the examination.

Umar Ansari had requested that the post-mortem be conducted at Delhi's AIIMS, which was denied. A judicial probe into Mukhtar Ansari's death has been initiated by a three-member team to address the family's concerns. Umar Ansari expressed confidence that the investigation would reveal the truth behind what he believed to be a planned murder, rather than a natural death.

Mukhtar Ansari was admitted to the hospital on Thursday evening and received medical attention from a team of nine doctors but passed away during treatment. His elder brother, Sibgatullah Ansari, claimed that he did not receive proper treatment.
