PM Modi directed sharp criticism at Sharad Pawar in Maharashtra, urging action against him for failing to fulfill a promise.

PM Modi said the former union agriculture minister hadn’t done anything for drought-prone areas of the region such as Solapur

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently delivered a fiery speech in Mumbai, targeting Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar for failing to fulfill his promise of bringing water to Solapur district back in 2009. Modi criticized Pawar's track record as the former Union Agriculture Minister, accusing him of neglecting drought-prone areas like Solapur and failing to support farmers across the country. In contrast, Modi highlighted his government's efforts in completing irrigation projects and increasing the minimum support price for farmers.

Modi called out Pawar's unfulfilled pledge to provide water to Solapur during his Lok Sabha election campaign, questioning his ability to deliver on his promises. He pointed out that Pawar did not contest from Solapur again after his disappointing tenure as an MP, emphasizing the incomplete irrigation projects during that time.

Furthermore, Modi highlighted his government's achievements, such as resolving issues like the ₹10,000 crore income tax burden on sugar factories and increasing the procurement of agricultural produce to ₹20 lakh crore. He criticized the Opposition's alleged plan of rotating the Prime Minister's post among multiple leaders, labeling it as a formula for looting the country.

In addition, Modi warned against the Congress's proposed inheritance tax, claiming it would reduce the assets inherited by legal heirs. He accused the Congress of favoring its own family members through inheritance privileges.

Finally, Modi praised his government's efforts in ensuring national security, citing the successful surgical strikes conducted inside Pakistan and contrasting the previous scenario of terrorist attacks with the current improved security situation
