PM Modi's Post-Campaign Plans: A Private Sunset Meditation and Chopper Arrival Without Tourists

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to arrive at the scenic Vivekananda Rock Memorial in Kanyakumari on Thursday evening for a meditation retreat. After a relentless campaign for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, Modi will stay from May 30 to June 1, similar to his previous spiritual retreats to Kedarnath in 2019 and Pratapgarh in 2014. His visit will start with an arrival in Thiruvananthapuram on May 30, followed by a helicopter flight to Kanyakumari, landing at 4:35 pm. He plans to witness the sunset at 6:34 pm and will leave Kanyakumari on June 1 at 3:30 pm, boarding a flight back to Delhi from Thiruvananthapuram airport at 4:10 pm.

To ensure his security and privacy, tourists will be advised to cancel their weekend plans, and local shops, lodges, and hotels will be restricted. Around 1,000 police personnel will be deployed, along with coastal patrols and coast guard ships. Additionally, a team of 10 SPG commandos arrived on Monday to assess security measures. Modi will stay at the Vivekananda Centre, a site of significant spiritual importance where Swami Vivekananda meditated and envisioned a developed India. Modi’s meditation at this site underscores his commitment to realizing Vivekananda's vision of a prosperous Bharat. The memorial also holds mythological significance as the meditation site of Goddess Parvati.
