Yogi Adityanath, originally named Ajay Mohan Bisht, is an Indian politician who currently serves as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, India. Born on June 5, 1972, in Panchur, Uttarakhand, he has been associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) since 1998.

Adityanath has a long-standing political career, having been elected to the Lok Sabha multiple times from the Gorakhpur constituency. He is also the head priest of the Gorakhnath Mutt, succeeding his spiritual mentor Mahant Avaidyanath in 2014. Upon assuming office as Chief Minister, Adityanath took various measures, including closing illegal slaughterhouses, banning cow smuggling, and prohibiting the use of plastic and pan masala in government offices. He also initiated anti-Romeo squads to combat eve-teasing and ordered a review of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) results due to reported irregularities.

Furthermore, he encouraged his ministers to refrain from using sirens and hooters to reduce noise pollution. Notably, he waived off a significant amount of loans for small and marginal farmers in the state, providing relief to the agricultural community.
