United States Stun Pakistan in Thrilling T20 World Cup Super Over Victory!

In their first-ever international cricket match against Pakistan, the USA emerged victorious in a thrilling Super Over during a Group A clash at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas.

Mohammad Amir bowled for Pakistan in the Super Over but struggled with accuracy, conceding 19 runs, including seven wides. Conversely, USA’s Saurabh Netravalkar maintained his composure under pressure, taking the wicket of Iftikhar Ahmed and securing a five-run victory for the USA.

After winning the toss and opting to bowl, the USA restricted Pakistan to 159/7 in their 20 overs. With five runs needed off the last ball, Nitish Kumar hit a four over mid-off to tie the scores. Earlier, India-born American batter Monank Patel led the batting charge with his maiden T20I half-century, while Andries Gous contributed a valuable 35. Despite losing wickets in quick succession and a declining run rate towards the end, the USA managed to keep the game alive with 12 runs needed off the last three balls.

Pakistan, losing the toss and being put in to bat, had a poor start, losing Mohammad Rizwan, Usman Khan, and Fakhar Zaman within the powerplay, leaving them at 26/3. A brief recovery followed with Shadab Khan (40 off 25) and skipper Babar Azam (44 off 43) adding 72 runs for the fourth wicket. However, the US bowlers struck back quickly, removing both set batters and putting Pakistan on the back foot. Shaheen Shah Afridi's late cameo of 25 runs helped Pakistan surpass the 150-run mark.

For the USA, Noshtush Kenjige was the standout bowler, taking three wickets. Saurabh Netravalkar took two wickets, while Pakistan-origin bowler Ali Khan and Jasdeep Singh claimed one wicket each.
