Rahul Gandhi on Nitish Kumar's switch:

Rahul Gandhi responded to Nitish Kumar's recent reversal of alliances by suggesting that Kumar is easily swayed under pressure. Speaking during his 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' in Purnia, Bihar, Gandhi emphasized the importance of social justice, which is one of the five principles his alliance has been advocating for in Bihar. He humorously remarked on Kumar's frequent political switches, illustrating with an anecdote about Kumar forgetting his shawl at the Governor House after taking oath as chief minister again.

Kumar's departure from the alliance also dealt a blow to the INDIA coalition, comprising 28 opposition parties aiming to challenge Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Kumar, considered the architect of the alliance, was reportedly displeased with not being appointed as its convenor and felt the Congress had taken control of the bloc.
