Ravindra Jadeja issues an apology to Sarfaraz Khan following the run-out incident.

On Thursday, Ravindra Jadeja issued an apology to his teammate Sarfaraz Khan after a run-out incident during the first day of the 3rd Test against England in Rajkot. Sarfaraz, who was playing aggressively, reached his maiden half-century in just 48 balls before a mix-up with Jadeja led to his run-out. The incident caused frustration evident in Indian skipper Rohit Sharma's reaction, caught on camera throwing away his cap in disappointment. After the match, Jadeja took to Instagram to express remorse, admitting his error and praising Sarfaraz's performance.

Sarfaraz, in a post-match press conference, brushed off the incident, acknowledging such misunderstandings as part of the game. He recounted Jadeja's apology in the dressing room, where they mutually accepted it as a common occurrence in cricket. In Sarfaraz's debut innings for India in Test cricket, he showcased an aggressive style, hitting nine fours and one six to counterattack after India lost early wickets. He formed an 87-run partnership with Jadeja, who remained unbeaten at 110 by the end of the day.

India, after winning the toss, chose to bat first but faced early setbacks, losing three wickets in the first session. However, the partnership between Rohit Sharma and Jadeja stabilized the innings, leading to a formidable 204-run stand for the fourth wicket. Despite losing five wickets, India finished the day with 326 runs on the board, with Jadeja still unbeaten. Kuldeep Yadav had just started his innings, while Dhruv Jurel, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Axar Patel were yet to bat.

Overall, Jadeja's apology to Sarfaraz highlighted the camaraderie and sportsmanship within the Indian cricket team, acknowledging mistakes and moving forward positively despite setbacks on the field.
