Rinku Singh smashes stadium press box glass, hitting Aiden Markram for a six.

In Tuesday's 2nd T20I clash against South Africa, India faced defeat as the home team secured a 1-0 lead in the three-match series, leaving one more game to be played. Aiden Markram, Proteas Men captain, elected to field after winning the toss at St. George's Park in Gqeberha. India encountered a rocky start, losing both openers, Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal, for a duck within the initial two overs.

While Tilak Varma contributed a valuable 29 runs off 20 balls, the standout performance came from Suryakumar Yadav, who played a captain's innings with a 36-ball 58. However, the batting highlight for India was Rinku Singh, delivering an unbeaten 68 off just 39 balls, featuring nine fours and two significant sixes.

Notably, one of Rinku's sixes had an unexpected consequence, shattering the glass of the media box at the stadium. In the 19th over bowled by Markram, Rinku aggressively struck the off-spinner for a six that hit the media box glass, a moment captured and shared by BCCI's media team member Rajal Arora on social media.

This marked Rinku's maiden fifty in international and T20 cricket. Sanjay Manjrekar, former Indian cricketer and commentator, praised Rinku's innings, highlighting the calculated shots and consistency displayed in his innings, with more boundaries than sixes.
