Sources indicate that the Maharashtra Opposition has finalized the allocation of seats, with the Uddhav Sena set to contest in 21 constituencies.

The Shiv Sena (UBT) is likely to contest 21 seats, while the Congress may fight in 15 seats and the Sharad Pawar faction of the NCP could get nine seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, sources told India Today TV.

The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), the opposition coalition in Maharashtra, has reportedly reached a consensus on how they will distribute seats for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, according to sources briefed by India Today TV. The agreement suggests that the Shiv Sena (UBT) is poised to contest in 21 seats, while the Congress is likely to compete in 15 seats, and the Sharad Pawar faction of the NCP may vie for nine seats. Additionally, the Vanchit Bahujan Aaghadi (VBA) and Swabhimani Paksha, led by Prakash Ambedkar and Raju Shetti respectively, are anticipated to contest in two and one seat each. This understanding was reached during a meeting held at Sharad Pawar's residence, attended by prominent leaders from the Congress, NCP, and Shiv Sena, along with representatives from VBA.

The finalized seat-sharing arrangement is expected to be officially announced by senior leaders of the alliance. It's worth noting that each party will be assigned a seat where they have a sitting parliamentarian, even if a candidate switches parties. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut emphasized the importance of unity in ensuring victory in the elections, highlighting the shared commitment of the coalition to safeguard democracy and uphold the constitution.

Meanwhile, Congress leaders are scheduled to convene in Delhi on March 4 to finalize the list of candidates. The Election Commission has yet to announce the dates for the Lok Sabha polls, but they are anticipated to take place in April-May. In the previous 2019 elections, the BJP secured 23 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra, while its ally Shiv Sena won 18. The undivided NCP won four seats, and the Congress and AIMIM each secured one seat, with one independent candidate also emerging victorious.
