The Election Commission has allocated a new election symbol to Sharad Pawar's party.

The Election Commission of India has designated the "man blowing turha," a traditional trumpet, as the symbol for the Nationalist Congress Party led by Sharadchandra Pawar in all parliamentary constituencies in Maharashtra. This decision follows a dispute resolved by the Commission, which also confirmed the party's name as "Nationalist Congress Party - Sharadchandra Pawar" until further notice from the Supreme Court. The NCP-Sharadchandra Pawar spokesperson confirmed that their candidates will contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections under this symbol. The party expressed its enthusiasm for the symbol on social media, stating their readiness to challenge the status quo in Delhi. This move by the Election Commission comes shortly after recognizing Ajit Pawar's faction as the legitimate NCP and granting them the party name and the 'clock' symbol. The split within the NCP occurred last year when Ajit Pawar and several MLAs joined the Eknath Shinde government.
