The NCP (SCP), led by Sharad Pawar, unveils 'man blowing tura' symbol: Seen as a catalyst for initiating a fresh struggle.

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) launched its new party symbol, featuring a man blowing a traditional trumpet known as 'tura,' at an event held at Raigad fort in the presence of party leader Sharad Pawar. Emphasizing the importance of the symbol, Pawar stated that it represents bringing happiness to the people and signifies the party's commitment to establishing a government focused on the welfare of the common man. State NCP chief Jayant Patil described the trumpet as a symbol of bravery, victory, and inspiration for the struggle ahead. The choice of Raigad fort for the event was significant as it holds historical significance related to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, symbolizing the party's reverence for his legacy and ideals. The trumpet, also known as 'tutari' in Marathi, has traditionally been used to announce the arrival of important figures, reflecting the party's aspirations to make a significant impact in politics. The party's enthusiasm for the symbol was evident in their statement, where they compared it to the valour of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and expressed their determination to make an impact in the upcoming elections under Sharad Pawar's leadership. This development comes after a split in the NCP, resulting in a faction led by Ajit Pawar, which was assigned a different party name and symbol by the Election Commission.
